THE ROLE.
As Account Director, you will help transform our clients’ business and shape our account management discipline. You’ll wear many hats: consultant, mentor, coach, collaborator, business strategist, brand steward, new business nurturer, and agency leader – to name a few. Ultimately your success will be measured by the agency’s ability to partner with your client(s) to achieve defined business goals, and the growth of the account team members you coach and mentor.
You will:
· Champion the agency’s work and value to clients
· Consult with client to develop business strategies and solutions to grow their business
· Cultivate strong relationships with client, acting as a business partner and a brand steward
· Foster the development of the highest quality creative work by sharing knowledge of client’s business and brand with internal team
· Manage financial health of the account, overseeing SOW and account budgets and profitability
· Mentor junior members of account team, providing coaching & guidance to further develop their growth
· Partner internally with function leads to provide client with guidance and thought leadership
· Look for additional business opportunities for agency and growth opportunities for client
· Trouble-shoot day-to-day account issues as needed
· Take a proactive approach to managing your accounts, identifying challenges before they become problems and actively pursuing opportunities for growth and improvement
This role reports into the SVP of Account Management. It is part of the Client Success department, where Account Management and Project Management teams work side by side to ensure client and agency success. The Account Management team is responsible for maintaining and growing healthy, high-performing accounts, while our Project Management team ensures each project is on time, on budget, and on strategy.
EXPERIENCE? YES, PLEASE.
· You’ve been managing successful integrated marketing campaigns for 10+ years, with a broad range of experience spanning branding, ad campaigns, paid media, digital and content marketing.
· You’ve got excellent communication and presentation skills. You’ll be doing a lot of that.
· You’re a strategic thinker and a problem solver. Whether a client has a new challenge or the toaster’s broken, you should have something up your sleeve.
· You possess an entrepreneurial spirit. We want you to stay hungry for our clients’ business and potential new business.
· You’re a natural leader. You know when to direct, when to delegate, and when to coach. You have experience building consensus among teams and motivating individuals to perform. You take accountability for your work and the work of your team.
· You’re analytical and results oriented. You don’t need to be a math wizard, but you need to know your way around an Excel sheet. You should be comfortable analyzing data and discussing marketing KPIs with your team and client.
