Role Overview
Great ideas deserve great visuals. At WHITE64, the Junior Art Director is the person who makes sure they get them. You’ll work alongside copywriters, senior creatives, and strategists to concept and execute campaigns for some genuinely interesting clients — service-driven brands in financial services, travel, healthcare, government contracting, and associations that are ready to stop being the best-kept secret in their industry.
This isn’t a “just execute what we tell you” role. We want someone with a point of view — who brings ideas, sweats the details, and is hungry to grow. The Art Director title is the logical next step, and we’re invested in helping you get there.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept and design across brand, advertising, digital, and social campaigns — bringing ideas, not just execution
- Collaborate with copywriters and senior creatives to develop integrated concepts across channels
- Design production-ready assets for digital, social, print, video, and out-of-home formats
- Apply and uphold client brand standards with consistency and care
- Participate actively in creative brainstorms and bring multiple directions, not just one
- Receive and incorporate feedback constructively, and stay curious about what makes creative work actually perform
- Leverage AI tools as a creative and production resource — from ideation and concepting to streamlining workflows and accelerating execution.
Skills & Qualifications
- A portfolio that shows concept thinking, not just polished execution
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite — Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign at minimum
- Strong design fundamentals — typography, color, hierarchy, and grid — applied with intention, not habit
- Fluency in digital and social formats — you know the specs, the aspect ratios, and why they matter
- Collaborative attitude and a healthy ego — confident in your ideas, not precious about them
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Advertising Art Direction, or equivalent real-world experience; motion design (After Effects) and agency background are a plus
- Fluency in Figma, including component-based design, shared libraries, and collaborative workflows is a plus
- Hands-on experience with AI tools (generative image, copy assist, workflow automation) and a genuine curiosity about how AI can make creative work faster and better.
