Paws on PenFed Plaza

BACKGROUND:

The Paws on PenFed Plaza event invites dogs and their owners to a day of four-legged fun on the plaza at Tysons Corner Center mall. PenFed was the premier sponsor of this event, which attracts dog owners from all over the DMV.

Our activation created a special pop-up “branch” of PenFed Credit Union designed specifically for pups. From our ATM (Automated Treat Machine) to our teller station distributing chew toys and doggy banks, everything finance took on a decidedly furry feel.

The highlight was a professional photographer taking snaps of the visiting pups and uploading them to our Paws on PenFed Plaza web site, where owners got the chance to generate a financial meme of their doggo and then share it on their socials.

Other fun touches included a doghouse (for canine mortgages) a pentagon-shaped splash pool for refreshment, and our very own banker mascot.

RESULTS:

  • 2,500 – 3,000 attendees (approximate)
  • 306 visitors to the site (as of July 1, 2025)
  • 500 branded doggy banks distributed
  • 1,000 branded chew toys distributed
  • 500 branded dog biscuits distributed
